Barry Kerfoot, Founder/Retired

Barry was the Firm’s founding Partner. Barry Kerfoot’s primary practice focus was in the areas of Business Law, Wills and Estates and Real Estate. Barry dealt with new and established businesses and all areas of Estate Planning from the first wills to complex trust wills for high asset clients. Barry was also the firm’s Registered Trade Mark Agent.

Barry practiced law since articles in 1971, initially as a solicitor, and then focusing his practice on litigation. He has dealt as counsel with a complex white collar crime trail, and a complicated construction case and used his litigation experience to assist his clients with his solicitor’s practice.

Barry was actively involved with the Lawyers Assistance Program of British Columbia. He had the privilege of being a Director of LAP and President and an active volunteer. Barry was also the President and a Director of the Edgewood Foundation.

Barry articled with Fulton, Cumming Bird Richards, became an Associate Lawyer with them in 1972 and a partner in 1974. In 1977 Barry Formed Kerfoot & Co., the predecessor to our firm.

Barry retired from the practice of law in 2017. He is now enjoying his retirement with his wife Karen, his dog Kona, his children and grandchildren.
